Powered Access Services were established in October 2003, and specialise in the hire and sales of access platforms. They operate out of three depots, located in the Midlands, London and Scotland, and offer a comprehensive, continuously growing fleet of over 300 self-propelled Scissors and Booms. Wherever possible, equipment can be adapted to suit the specific requirements of the customer to ensure any access and ground loading restrictions are taken into account. Safety is a high priority and all the machines are checked and maintained by a team of experienced engineers before customer delivery. Powered Access Services also offers an I.P.A.F. (International Powered Access Federation) standard training course to ensure all personnel are suitably qualified to use the required equipment.

Two of Powered Access Services’ sales people came across Higher Concept Software’s stand at the SED show in 2007. Their first impression was a positive one so Higher Concept Software visited their premises for an on-site meeting to discuss and illustrate how Syrinx® could help their business. Syrinx® was subsequently installed in the middle of August 2007 and they went live fully at the beginning of September; just two weeks later.

“Syrinx® is excellent!” says Rebecca Knight of Powered Access Services. “Our previous system wasn’t very user-friendly but our staff have adapted to Syrinx® brilliantly. Everyone is getting on really well with it”.

When asked of her overall opinion of Syrinx®, Rebecca says: “Syrinx® saves you a lot of time and hassle. It is easy to use and you can do what you want. It is very flexible. Our previous system would only allow you to invoice on Fridays, resulting in us having to come into the office one Boxing day! Syrinx® doesn’t have any such restrictions, it can invoice in advance or back-date”.

Higher Concept Software’s account managers and trainers have all had previous experience working in the hire industry, which means they understand the hire industry’s unique requirements and issues. Also the support desk team is sympathetic to both the needs of expert and novice users alike. “The support desk is very good. We are pleased with it” says Rebecca.
